Information By Division
The Civil Division handles cases where one party sues another to recover money or property, enforce a contract, collect damages or protect civil rights. Includes unlawful detainers, injunctive orders, and name changes.
The Criminal Division has jurisdiction over felony and misdemeanor crimes. Charging documents consist of citations, complaints, information, and Grand Jury indictments.
The Family Law division hears matters involving family-related issues. Family Court Services offers mediation and evaluations for child custody and visitation.

The Juvenile Division handles cases involving juvenile dependency, juvenile delinquency and juvenile traffic.
The Probate Division handles cases involving estates, trusts, guardianships, and conservatorships.
Probate matters involving estates, trusts or property are heard on Thursdays at 10:00 a.m. in Department 1.
Probate matters involving guardianships and conservatorships are heard on Fridays at 10:00 a.m. in Department 2.
The Small Claims Division is a special court within the Superior Court where disputes are resolved quickly and inexpensively. These lawsuits do not exceed $10,000.
The Traffic/Infraction division processes infraction violations of the vehicle code, local ordinance or other law or statute.
