If you fail to pay your court-ordered fine, your case may be referred to a collection agency or to the California Franchise Tax Board – Court-Ordered Debt (FTB-COD) program for collection.
 
Once your case has been referred to collections, you may not appear in court unless you file a formal motion and receive a court date.
