Criminal Division

Misdemeanors and felony matters

If you missed your court date and a warrant has been issued for your arrest, you must appear at the clerks window before noon Monday-Friday and file a Request for Immediate hearing. Your case will be heard the same day at 1:30 pm.  If a felony arrest warrant was issued for your arrest you must surrender yourself to the Calaveras County Jail Monday through Friday before 10:00 a.m. in order to appear before the judge on the in custody calendar the same day.

If you wish to appear before they judge for any reason, you may submit an Application for Immediate Hearing. This form is located under Common Local Forms. You must complete the form and notify the District Attorney of the date and time you are requesting to be heard. After notifying the District Attorney you must complete the form and submit the original to the court. The clerk has the authority to grant your request for immediate hearing if you request a hearing date of Thursday at 1:30 pm.   You may request any other day and time but your request will be forwarded to the judge for consideration.

If you fail to pay your fine your case may be referred to a collection agency or the Franchise Tax Board. You may not appear in court without filing a formal motion. You must contact the collection agency, GC Services at 1-800-333-8395 or the Franchise Tax Board at 916-845-4064.
